iPinYou Shines at Digital Travel Summit with Insightful Workshop on Big Data and China Travellers
In mid-August, iPinYou had the privilege of participating in the prestigious Digital Travel Summit APAC held in Singapore, where we hosted an enlightening workshop on leveraging big data to connect with the Chinese outbound travel audience. Following our participation in this year's Advertising Week Europe and the Martech Summit Hong Kong, this presence marks the first time iPinYou has taken to the international stage as a speaker this year at a global conference.
Themed on How to leverage big data to target Chinese travelers, our workshop was kicked off with a concise introduction to iPinYou by Mark Xie, our co-founder and COO, who set the stage for an in-depth presentation by our EU General Manager, David Nottingham.
With extensive experience in travel industry advertising, David's presentation delved into the post-pandemic insights of Chinese outbound tourists, covering aspects such as preferred destinations, travel behaviors, and demographic characteristics. He also unveiled iPinYou's powerful data capabilities in reaching Chinese audiences, highlighting our strengths in OTT, CAD (China Civil Aviation Data), Telecom data, and our K-advisor (KOL) system. The workshop featured an interactive group discussion segment, where participants were encouraged to share their perspectives and queries. One of the primary concerns addressed was the management of data privacy in China, particularly in light of the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL). Clients were keen to understand how to navigate these regulations while leveraging China Civil Aviation Data (CAD) for precise audience targeting. David provided insights on compliance strategies and how to ethically utilize data within the legal framework to reach potential customers effectively.
Beyond the usual suspects like WeChat and Ctrip, attendees were introduced to the diverse landscape of Chinese media. Our discussion expanded their perception, highlighting the multitude of platforms and channels available for reaching audiences in China, thus enabling a more comprehensive media approach. David also explained how the DSP can collect audience data from campaign activation and how brands can start building their own audience segments for future campaigns.
Moreover, the intricacies of navigating the approval processes for advertising campaigns in China were discussed, offering participants insights into expediting time to market. Sean explained the various purchasing models and how brands can optimize their media buying strategies for cost-effectiveness and maximum impact.
In addition to the invited participants, our workshop attracted a number of voluntary guests, all of whom gained a comprehensive understanding of our data capabilities as well as the complexities and opportunities within the Chinese digital marketing landscape. Additionally, this event provided iPinYou with a unique opportunity to listen closely to the voices of leading brands across the APAC region. We deepened our comprehension of customer needs and are now equipped to offer more holistic solutions to the digital tourism sector. This experience has been instrumental in enhancing our service offerings and underscores our commitment to meeting the evolving demands of our clients.
We look forward to further collaboration and the continuous advancement of digital strategies to keep pace with the evolving Chinese market. We'd like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the guests, speakers, organiser, and staff who made this event a resounding success.
The journey continues, and we are excited to further our engagement with you. Here's to many more milestones ahead!
